Integrative Veterinarian/Owner

Dr. Brown dreamed of becoming a veterinarian during her youth while growing up in Cleveland, Ohio. She has resided in the Valley of the Sun since completing her undergraduate work at Arizona State University where she was a member of the Barrett's' Honors College. After receiving concurrent bachelor degrees from ASU in Biology and Italian she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. At Western, Dr. Brown was fortunate to participate in a new paradigm of veterinary education called problem based learning.
Special interests of Dr. Brown include Integrative Veterinary Medicine, specifically Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM). She graduated from the Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine Mixed Animal Acupuncture program via Chi University in Reddick, Florida. Dr. Brown is a life long learner & enjoys following her passions. She is pursuing a Masters Degree and TCVM practitioner status which includes the four disciplines of TCVM (acupuncture, herbal, food therapy and Tiu Na). Future goals include Equine Sports Medicine and Chiropractic.
Professional organizations to which Dr. Brown has been a member include The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association (AZVMA), The Veterinary Information Network (VIN), the American Association of HouseCall and Mobile Veterinarians (AAHV) and The American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association (AHVMA).
Dr. Brown occasionally teaches at a local college as an Adjunct Professor of Biology. She has also published several articles for Biology Digest on topics regarding the veterinary profession. Dr. Brown is a Best-Selling Author and has won awards for her work from As You Wish Publishing.
When Dr. Brown is not treating patients her favorite past time is creating art. She is a local Mixed Media Artist with art in local art shows, shops and galleries in the valley. Her favorite subjects to paint are angels and horses. Sometimes the healer needs healing and art truly heals!
She also enjoys yoga, tennis, travel and spending time with family and friends including her son Tyler, her horses Wyatt & Duke, her dog Hope Hollyhock and cats Sally, Roker & Figgy. Dr. Brown loves to speak Italian so don't forget to say Ciao and strike up a conversation in Italian if you also speak the language!
